Anastrozole brings down estrogen by reducing how much testosterone is converted into it. It comes up in discussions of high estrogen on cycle, unlike tamoxifen, which mainly blocks estrogen's action in certain tissues. Pushing estrogen too low can bring joint pain, hot flashes, worse cholesterol and bone loss.
ARIMIDEX breast-cancer treatment in postmenopausal women. This labeled amount is not a routine male or bodybuilding dose, and its treatment length is not a steroid-cycle length.
Small male trials show estradiol reduction and testosterone changes. They do not establish a universal target estradiol or routine preventive use.
Estradiol deficiency, bone loss, joint symptoms, adverse lipids, hot flashes and possible sexual/mood effects.
Health problem link: confirmed estrogen excess in a diagnosed context. Estradiol, symptoms, bone and lipid risk require clinician interpretation.
Approved for hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women; male and AAS-related use is off-label.
