Unapproved research peptide
Melanotan II
MT2, or Melanotan II, is sold for a darker tan. It can darken skin and also cause spontaneous erections. It is an unapproved peptide, and a darker tan does not mean sun protection. Nausea, changing moles and prolonged erections are the standout risks.
Small early human studies observed pigmentation and erectile effects with frequent nausea/yawning; long-term safety, purity and dosing are not established.
Nausea, flushing, appetite change, spontaneous erections/priapism, darkening/changing moles and contamination/mislabeling risk.
Skin changes require dermatologic assessment; prolonged painful erection is an emergency. Monitoring cannot establish product purity.
Not FDA-approved; regulator import alerts identify Melanotan products as unapproved new drugs.
