Anabolic-androgenic steroid
stanozolol
Winstrol is used for a drier, harder look while cutting or preparing for a show. It is not known for a big watery increase in size, but it does not directly strip off body fat or existing water. Users report uncomfortable joints, and tendon injuries are a concern with steroid use. Cholesterol can worsen sharply, and both oral and injectable stanozolol carry liver concerns.
Crossover lipid study in 11 male weightlifters, not a recommended cutting dose. HDL fell and LDL rose; this study did not measure how quickly a harder appearance or joint discomfort developed.
Randomized and controlled human studies show liver-enzyme elevations and a pronounced adverse HDL/LDL effect even in medical contexts.
Liver injury, severe HDL reduction/LDL increase, tendon/joint complaints, gonadal suppression and cardiovascular risk.
AST/ALT/bilirubin; HDL/LDL/triglycerides; blood pressure; musculoskeletal symptoms; reproductive hormones.
Historical prescription uses exist; not approved for bodybuilding.
